Class Title: The Anglican Catechism for Disciples, Evangelists, Nervous Parents, Curious Students, Seekers After Truth, the Confused, and the Doubting (In Other Words, for Everyone)
When: Wednesdays, 6:15-7:30 pm | 12 January – 23 March
Led by: Fr. Michael Petty, Ken Mayo, and Ben Munroe
Pathway 2: Scripture and Christian Doctrine
Pathway 4: Living out our baptism as public witnesses for Christ
By virtue of our baptism, we are called to be disciples and evangelists. To this calling, we bring ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses, and what is currently going on in our lives. This class is an exploration of Questions 1-153 of the Anglican Catechism which cover the Apostles’ Creed. As we move through these questions, we will be talking about sin, repentance, faith, salvation, Christ, grace, hope, the sacraments, the Church, death, resurrection, eternal life, judgment, and what it means to believe these things and to live accordingly. This class is designed to be multi-generational and participatory. Whether you have read the whole Catechism or know nothing about it, you will find this to be a rewarding experience.
