Led by: Ryan Cecil, Charles Simeon Summer Fellow
This class will focus on the care of creation as a pathway to discipleship. Realizing that there are competing ways of looking at the natural world, the class will begin with the Christian doctrine of creation given that the secular view of the natural world is so prominent. The class will explore the meaning of humans being created in the image of God, on the earth as a gift of God, and on our role as stewards of this gift. By working through these issues, we will discover how creation care is a form of discipleship. The book for this class is Norman Wirzba’s From Nature to Creation and will be available in St. Peter’s Bookstore.
