Wednesday Nights from 6:15 - 7:30 pm

This class will explore the rich theological, devotional, and aesthetic tradition of Christian poetry. Instruction will focus on how to read and interpret poetry with attention to grammar, vocabulary, diction, and literary devices unique to the poetic form. The class will begin with biblical poetry from both Old and New Testaments and survey many classic works of Christian poetry, including poems by Shakespeare, Donne, Herbert, Rossetti, Hopkins, Eliot, and others.
