Family Bible School | June 2nd – 4th, 5- 8pm
We LOVED “Family Style” Bible school for the last 5 years, and we are doing it again! We invite the whole family to come, participate, learn, and grow in their faith together. Enjoy a picnic dinner on the lawn (Po’Boys, BBQ, & Tacos). After dinner, families and volunteers will join together in worship, accompanied by live music. We will meet and hear from visitors from the Bible. Families will be grouped together into tribes to play games, make art, and learn about God’s word together. We have a special pre-school tribe for our younger families. This year's theme is “Redeeming Waters”. Our water games, slides, and tie-dye t-shirts are back for another great and memorable week.
Registration Open, Jun 27 – Jul 3 | Black Mountain, NC
Join families from all over the province to serve on a family-friendly mission trip to help with Hurricane Helene disaster response. Families will work together during the day, worship, play, and learn about God’s love and His “Great Commission.” Open to children 7 years and older.
Everyone is invited to join us on the lawn to make a fresh Advent Wreath for your home! Prayer booklets will be available for you to take and use at home, and candles will be available for purchase. This is a wonderful tradition to help prepare our hearts for the Christmas season.

Guest Speaker: Robbie Castleman
Friday September 5th | 5:30pm-8pm
Attention all parents of children and teens! Come for fellowship, dinner, and a parent’s workshop. The children will be busy with a pizza dinner, craft, game time, and more. Our youth are going to have dinner and activities too. Our guest speaker, Robbie Castleman , has a heart for partnering with parents to help equip them to "Daddy, I'd like you to meet my children." That's Robbie Castleman's attitude about bringing your children to church. She believes that Sunday morning isn't a success if she has only managed to keep the kids quiet. Children of all ages are at church for the same reason as their parents: for the privilege of worshiping God. Worship, Castleman writes, is "the most important thing you can ever train your child to do." So with infectious passion, nitty-gritty advice and a touch of humor, she shows you how to help your children (from toddlers to teenagers) enter into worship. Dr. Robbie Castleman is professor Emerita of New Testament & Biblical Studies at John Brown University. She is the author of several books including Story Shaped Worship and Parenting in the Pew. Robbie is returning to Tallahassee to share her in-depth knowledge and love with you all. This will be a treat! There is something for the whole family this evening. So please RSVP for the dinner head count. We are asking for $20 donation per family to help cover the cost if you are able. Please RSVP to Amy Stewart at astewart@stpetersfl.com today! Please share who is coming, the ages of children and youth, and if there are any food allergies.
Robbie Castleman with the youth | 5 Sept | 4:30pm | If you are in high school mark your calendars for Friday September 5th at 4:30! Professor Castleman's time with St. Peter's youth won't just help you engage the story arc of biblical worship, but you'll get better grades if you go to college because of some ideas presented at the seminar!
If you are interested in being a part of the Chorister program next year, please contact Debbie Garven, debgarven@gmail.com. Next year's season begins with a pre-season, half-day chorister boot camp from July 14-18. This puts everyone on the same level with some basic skills of leading in worship and singing as well as integrating new member's into the chorister community by engaging in relationship building activities. We can’t wait for camp!
Join us in the Nave for a special guest! Dan the Balloon Man will be here to share his special talent and tricks with balloons while sharing the Gospel. He travels all over the country sharing God’s love and making balloons. This a is great event to invite neighbors and friends. Come early and join us for dinner at 5pm.
Why “Family Style”? Discipleship is not an individual event; God created us to journey and support each other in this life together. Family Style means families come to worship, pray, play, and fellowship together as a family and with other families. Our prayer is that this will be an opportunity to help families grow together in their faith and reconnect to God’s kingdom and each other. Our hope is that our families will leave empowered to continue growing their faith together at home.
What is Family Bible School? Very similar to a regular VBS! There will be singing and dancing, interactive Bible stories, crafts, water games, and more! Children will start with their parents at their picnic blanket on the lawn, but they won’t be sitting for long! Families will be grouped in tribes and will visit stations together. Stations will be inside and outside the church. Kids will still have opportunities to have fun with old friends and make new ones. Parents will have a chance to connect with their peers, too!
What is expected of parents, grandparents, and guardians? Have fun with your kids! You will help shepherd them to the different stations and help them participate in the activities and program. This is a great opportunity to share your faith and make memories with your children. This is not a drop-off event. Parents are participating for the entire time. We need at least one parent (grandparent or guardian) per family to stay. You are welcome to bring friends! You will be responsible for the children you bring. You will not be alone! There will be volunteers assigned to help and support families as they navigate the different activities and program.
What about my baby or toddlers? Bring them! Nursery is open for the littlest ones, or they are welcome to stay with your family too!
What about my teens? Teens may participate with your family, or serve in one of the many volunteer positions needed to make FBS a great success!
If I volunteer, can I have dinner? Yes! Dinner reservations are a part of the volunteer sign up. We want volunteers to come fellowship with dinner and worship with the families!
We prefer to have dinner at home. No problem! If you would prefer not to partake of the parish dinners, you may certainly eat ahead of time and join us at 5:30 FBS programming, or pack your own picnic and eat with the other families at 5:00pm.
Come and join us as we watch a fun movie as a perish! Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe a warm drink. This is a very family friendly event so please bring your family and friends!
Movie is TBD

It will be a mix of all sorts of different musical activities, all supporting the health and growth of our group.
If you have been a part of one of our ensembles in the past, we need you and your skills back, especially now. If you haven't done this before, give it a try. We will train you and you will love it! It all starts July 15-19, 9am-12:30pm so mark your calendars. And Youth - don't wait! Request time off from work now!
Do you realize that the Lord commands us to sing? (Psalm 30, Colossians 3, among many references) Singing is not optional for believers. Our Lord expects us to sing and even with skill as much as our gifts allow (Psalm 33).
The theme of warfare and singing in scripture is a visible theme from King Jehosophat putting his singer soldiers at the front of the battle lines (2 Chronicles 20), to the Apostle Paul talking about fighting evil with songs from the Spirit (Ephesians 5). A singing heart is a heart at war with the work of the evil one and the power of sin.
There aren’t many places where you are trained to sing with skill but also with fellow believers in a Christian environment. (Ephesians 5:19).
The cathedral hosts three services on a normal Sunday, including evensong, which is made up of a lot of music. We need singers to do the work that the Lord has commanded us to do.
